So I've decided that I hate Perth that much that I want to move to Sydney to start fresh. I'm a uni student, which would make it hard for me to move all of a sudden. I happen to be finding the excuse to move to Sydney for study.. But really it's more than that, it's everything! I need to know:

a) desirable suburbs to move into (somewhere cute between the city and surf)
b) Universities
d) beaches
e) applying for jobs (whether i should move to Sydney now unemployed, or find a job in Sydney first)
f) making friends. Is this going to be difficult not knowing anybody and moving interstate?

Please help!

Bridge, I lived at Dee Why, my apartment was across the road from the beach, but the rents are a little high.

You have The university of NSW, Sydney University, Macquarie University, The University of Western Sydney, those come to mind, but what is your major going to be?

Go over and have a look and see about employment.

Campus community at any university, is a pretty tight knit group, you will be fine. Mc Gill University here in Montreal, have a great social community, same in Sydney.

Best of luck.

1 . Accomodation in that part of Sydney is very expensive

2. Depends on what course you are doing . Some Uni's are a long way from the coast.

3. You wont find a job unless you know some one who has it lines up for you.

4. A first it will be

First you need to contact Sydney universities to see if you can transfer to a similar course. Then, once you've been offered a place, ask the university if they can assist with accommodation. Once there you can look for casual employment and you'll make friends at uni anyway.
